Hi everybody.. (she awkwardly says, while she has no clue as to how to start writing her introductory piece..)… ok.. let’s give this a go.. so.. it’s been suggested by quite a few people now that I put pen to paper and do something with my writing.. my husband being one them.. he said something along the lines of, “Something you’re absolutely, definitely, for sure never short of.. and that’s words..!” ha…!

So here it is.. I’ve decided to start a blog.. I’m not entirely sure on the content.. to be honest I don’t really have a plan at all for it yet.. I guess it’ll be a journey in itself, until hopefully it becomes a thing.. a continually growing thing..

A little bit about me.. I’m a full time mummy to four scrumptious little (and big) beings, who are my absolute world.. so I’m sure a massive chunk will be on all things parenting.. from the day they were born and falling in love.. a love like no other, through to coping with sleep deprivation, managing and working through big feelings, to laughing and maintaining a close connection with teens.

My younger two are free range home ed’ers, and we love sharing all the adventures we go on.. we’re following a mostly child led, unschooling approach at the moment with very little structure, and with a big emphasis on as much hands on, having fun, doing stuff as possible. We love wild schooling and world school learning.

The last six months or so, I’ve developed a real interest in natural health, nutrition, overall happiness and well being.. so I’d love to write about what I’m learning and share with you all my latest findings and healthy swaps.

I also have a real love for learning new words and concepts.. particularly words in other languages that don’t have a direct / exact translation to English.. like hygge.. and oubaitori..

Oubaitori (oh-buy-toe-ree) is a Japanese concept / metaphor that humans, just like fruit trees, grow, bloom and blossom in their own individual, unique way and in their own time.. where there’s absolutely no need and no place for comparison or judgement.. everyone has the freedom to be them.. and to flourish into whoever it is that they want and are meant to become.

I totally fell in love with this one.. it sits so right and aligned with me.. it’s relatable to every aspect of life.. how beautiful would it be if everyone of us lived true to our authentic selves.. without comparing ourselves to others.. and without giving a monkeys what anyone else thought. And so, it became the name of my new little business venture.. we are an Oubaitori Tribe.

I run face to face, in person events too.. I love bringing people together, creating little communities of people, all while indulging and engaging in fun, feel-good activities.

My other hobbies, big loves and guilty pleasures, that could well find their way into a blog, are dancing, baking, reading, chocolate, tarot / oracle cards, yoga, being in nature, herbal teas, playing board games, swimming, arts and crafts.. particularly process art, hygge, warm winter white fairy lights, Outlander, mindfulness, crystals, laughter, good wine and a chinwag..

So there you go.. this is me..!

Ooh.. actually.. there’s a possibility I could occasionally have a good old moan about my Chef Wife Life too.. and I’ll apologise now, in advance for this one.. things can get and feel tough sometimes.. these moans will most likely occur in the lead up to Christmas.. or maybe during wedding season.. or at the beginning of Autumn when the horse sales begin..!

Right, that’s enough for today.. Thanks for reading everybody.. my next / first proper blog’s going to be all about Vision Boards.. such powerful things.. I love them..!

Big squishy hygge hugs..

Vicky
